Houston Rockets sign Luc Mbah a Moute to the veteran’s minimum. He was looking for a raise this offseason, but playing with a team consisting of a backcourt of James Harden, Chris Paul, and perhaps others may have swayed him from switching teams, not to mention some tax incentives.
Mbah a Moute provides D, has experience with Chris Paul and has improved from the 3. The D’antoni system works great with 3s. WIth Chris Paul and Luc, the Rockets got some great defenders, not to mention their centers led by Nene, and Trevor Ariza. Trevor Ariza, was an upgrade off Chandler Parsons when he became a free agent from the Rockets.
Houston recently received Chris Paul
in a trade with Patrick Beverly, Sam Dekker, Montrez Harrell, DeAndre Liggins, Kyle Wiltjer and Lou Williams among others. Paul George was rumored to be in trade talks. Chris Paul is probably the best defensive point guard behind Gary Payton and Walt “Clyde” Frazier. Chris Paul joins Houston Rockets for the 2017-18 season. I was surprised at the move because I thought he was staying with the Clippers due to money. He is eligible for a 4 year, $150 million contract extension or can be an unrestricted free agent making $200 million for 5 years.
The New Orleans Pelicans are interested in re-obtaining Ryan Anderson, even with a three year $60 million remaining contract needs to be part of the transaction . The Brooklyn Nets also can take the Ryan Anderson contract as mentioned by the WFAN. Ryan Anderson would fit since he’s a 3 point shooter, a starter. The Nets are willing to take a big contract for draft picks, which may be why three teams are involved. They received D’angelo Russell, DeMarre Carroll and two draft picks
from big trades. That was the same day CJ Miles was sign and traded
for Cory Joseph.
